Scientific-Based Instruction Program Accredited By PGA Of America; K-VEST Technology Utilized To Increase Understanding Of 3-D Swing Analysis
Bedford, New Hampshire, January 3, 2007 â?¦ Bentley Kinetics, Inc., a leader in the field of wireless motion analysis, and developer of the K-VESTâ?¢, a first of its kind golf instructional system, today introduced golf’s first-ever Kinetic Swing Certification Program. Accredited by the PGA of America, the program will be introduced to PGA Professionals via a series of certification seminars, with the first event scheduled for January 8th and 9th at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, AZ.
The Kinetic Swing Certification Program is designed to introduce PGA professionals and coaches to the Kinetic Swing Systemâ?¢, a science-based instruction program that utilizes the company’s K-VEST technology to effectively improve swing efficiency. With K-VEST, PGA professionals/coaches can analyze the golf swing in 3-D to more effectively identify swing patterns that can not be seen with the human eye or video.
Supported by more than 16 years of research pertaining to the measurement and improvement of a golfer’s kinetic chain, Bentley’s team of golf professionals, human motion experts and top biomechanical specialists developed a curriculum that utilizes its K-VEST technology and Kinetic Swing System to empower teachers. The certification program will educate coaches on the overall benefits of measuring a golf swing in three (3) dimensions, and specifically focus on measuring and improving the kinetic chain.
"K-VEST is rapidly proving to be the future of golf instruction as it continues to gain traction among some of the top teaching professionals in the world, including David Leadbetter and Chuck Cook," said Michael Bentley, Founder and CTO, Bentley Kinetics. "The Kinetic Swing Certification Program will now provide golf professionals with the ability to more effectively utilize the technology during their lesson program. It will also allow professionals to significantly enhance their instructional revenue by providing an unparalleled experience to their students."
"The Kinetic Swing System not only empowers me with a better explanation of cause and effect, it also gives me the ability to prescribe a program that is simple and easy for any student. It has allowed me to significantly increase my off season revenue by offering indoor kinetic training to my clients. For the instructor who wishes to take their students and their business to the next level, the Kinetic Swing System is a must," comments Michael Schlager, a PGA Professional and Director of Instruction at the Omni Interlockin Resort in Denver, CO.
The K-VEST, which can be used indoors or outdoors, with or without a video camera utilizes three (3) wireless sensors strategically placed on the golfer’s hip, shoulder and hand. These sensors communicate with Bentley’s proprietary KINESYNCâ?¢ software on a laptop to display live video and 3-D animation. The instructor and/or player simply record a swing and, within seconds, the software generates a complete 3-D swing analysis allowing the user to quickly identify swing faults. The exercise mode is then used to provide real-time audio, visual, and kinesthetic feedback to optimize performance.
