NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA – January 5, 2007 – A core group of 46 respected and accomplished
Professional ClubFitters from around the world have joined forces to found
IPCA, the International Professional ClubFitters Association.
It’s unanimous in the golf industry: custom fitted clubs will enhance every golfer’s
game. But who is a qualified fitter? Where do you find a qualified fitter? And what
should be expected from a bona fide clubfitting?
IPCA can answer all of these questions and more. The goals of IPCA are many: (1) to
raise the bar for the profession by setting guidelines for skill and integrity; (2) to educate
the public on what to expect and where to go for a first-rate clubfitting, (3) to educate
and mentor new men and women who wish to join the profession and (4) to establish a
program for continuing education to maintain the highest standards for the profession.
The worthy objectives of IPCA have already generated a list of applications from those
in the industry who would like to join. It has also generated a number of corporate
sponsors comprised of the top manufacturers of equipment, technologies and tools that
serve the profession including: About Golf, Balance Certified, Explanar, Fit Chip, Henry
Griffitts, JR Mats, KZG, NovaTech Shafts, SK Fiber and Zelocity.
The founding members of IPCA will hold their first meeting and elections of officers and
ratification of the by-laws on January 23rd in Orlando, Florida.
Another project of IPCA is the Inaugural International Professional ClubFitter’s Expo
scheduled for January 22, 23 and 24th in Orlando, Florida. The Expo will include one
day of testing of new technologies and equipment and two days of seminars, talks and
clinics conducted by the top experts in the business.
