SAN FRANCISCO, JANUARY 8, 2007— Selected garments from Iconicâ?¢ Sport have been chosen for feature presentation in the 2007 edition of the annual Zoom Catalogue of Swiss-based, Schoeller Textil AG. The Zoom Catalogue is Schoeller’s key marketing document and is direct-mailed to a circulation of over 17,000 in North America, and over 60,000 worldwide. Its purpose is to inform garment manufacturers, retailers, and apparel industry executives of market innovations and brand usage of Schoeller fabrications and technologies. The catalogue also serves as a significant educational vehicle for both media and retailers.
Established in 1868, Schoeller is an international high-tech company specializing in the development and manufacturing of sophisticated, functional fabrications and textile technologies.
Iconicâ?¢ Sport, launched at the 2006 PGA show, was one of the first women’s golf apparel companies to champion functional performance enhancement in combination with luxury style. Garments from Iconic were selected from an initial list of candidates that according to Schoeller USA’s, Director of Marketing and Communications, Sheree Halleran, was "genuinely large." The criteria included something legitimately new, not repeated in the market, or a carry over from one season to the next. "We were excited to see Schoeller in the women’s golf market," said Halleran. "Golf is a key target for our North American market strategy, so this was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate Schoeller in our initiatives."
Halleran and the North American team pared down their original list to a few key candidates and submitted the Iconicâ?¢ Sport garments to executives at Schoeller’s international headquarters in Switzerland for final approval and determination. "When we know that Zoom is going to press, we think of those brands that will bring great exposure," said Gary Meikle, National Sales Manager, for Schoeller USA. "We’re looking for partnerships of brands that represent our product well with fabrics that represent their needs well." Iconicâ?¢ Sport joins in the Zoom Catalogue with other golf apparel items from various foreign markets. "This is the primary marketing tool for Schoeller," said Halleran. "So it’s important to us to that it has a 12 month shelf-life for those who receive it."
