POWAY, Calif. – Aldila’s popularity on the Tour picked up where it left off in 2006 with a Shaft Manufacturer Count victory at the Mercedes-Benz Championship in Kapalua, Hawaii. In fact, Aldila had more than two times as many shafts in play in this year’s event than they did at last year’s Mercedes-Benz Championship. They were the number one hybrid manufacturer at the Mercedes too.
Aldila is also the leading shaft for consumers, Aldila closed out 2006 as the leading graphite shaft manufacturer for new drivers, fairway woods and hybrid clubs, according to the Darrell Survey U.S. National Consumer Survey.
For the second consecutive year, Aldila was the leading shaft in use for both new clubs and total use in the driver category. They were by far the leading choice for consumers in fairway woods outpacing the second place manufacturer by more than a 2-to-1 margin in usage. In hybrid clubs, the fastest growing segment of the industry, Aldila shafts were three times more popular than the second place manufacturer.
