LAURINBURG, N.C. â?¦ Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation introduced its latest line of Golf Pride brand grips for the 2007 season. The new models continue to build on Golf Pride’s innovative technology and commitment to improving golfers’ performance. Among the new Golf Pride grips to hit the course this year are the DD2â?¢ grip and the New Decadeâ?¢ MultiCompound Putter grip.
"The Golf Pride 2007 grip series continues to build on our groundbreaking technology," said Jeff Fiorini, general manager of Eaton’s Golf Grip Division. "With every innovation, we look to develop grips that will give golfers an edge out on the course – whether they’re a beginner or a touring professional."
The new DD2 grip combines a soft rubber compound with a firm, low-torque rubber material to provide golfers with enhanced stability, ultimate comfort and reduced torque for consistent shot feedback.
DD2 employs similar material and construction technology as Golf Pride’s popular Dual Durometerâ?¢ grip, but is evolutionary in material placement and styling.
The black rubber material in the DD2 provides a stable, firm base layer that runs the length of the grip. It is visible at both ends, as well as down the front of the grip, creating an upper-hand thumb placement area for alignment. The softer gold rubber material is molded on top of the black base layer to provide maximum control and comfort in all weather conditions. The combination of DD2 grip materials and molding technology provides torsional strength and enhanced stability, which eliminates twisting or moving during the swing. The DD2 is available in standard and midsize.
The distinctive look and tour-proven performance of the New Decade MultiCompound putter has made it the hottest grip in golf. Now the MultiCompound is available in a small diameter, tour-proven putter grip that encourages comfortable hand placement and consistent putter alignment. The MultiCompound putter grip provides the moisture management of cord in the upper hand, with the comfort of rubber in the lower hand for sure traction in all weather conditions and the soft touch needed on the greens. The new MultiCompound putter grip comes in red, yellow, blue, orange and pink, giving players the option to have a matched set of grips across their entire set.
"Choosing the right grip for your game is critical to maximizing performance on the course, said Fiorini. "Golfers must consider grip size, overall feel and weather conditions which can drastically affect shot-making ability. With all of the advancements in new club technology, nothing is more critical than the only part of the club golfers actually touch – the grip."
