SAN DIEGO — America’s leading innovator in grip design, Lamkin announces the release of its new Dual Density Torsion Control Tour Series grip. The Dual Density Torsion Control grips introduced a whole new level of performance and technology, and the new Tour Series model provides the firmer feel that is often preferred by golfers with higher swing speeds.
The award-winning Dual Density Torsion Control and Torsion Control Tour Series grips feature a torque-reducing design and revolutionary base layer with the patented Laser-Tacâ?¢ surface, to ultimately produce longer and straighter golf shots.
"When we first introduced the Dual Density Torsion Control grips, golfers around the world immediately recognized that the grip design presented a level of performance and technology that had never been seen, nor felt, in a golf grip," says Bob Lamkin, president and CEO of Lamkin Corporation. "The new Torsion Control Tour Series grips raise the bar even higher by putting that same advanced grip technology in the hands of lower handicap players."
The new Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control Tour Series grip incorporates 20 separate, stabilizing bars to reduce torque and increase club control, and features Lamkin’s patented Laser-Tacâ?¢ surface technology to improve player performance. Unlike traditional grip patterns that can actually retain moisture, the Dual Density Torsion Control design utilizes a ‘moisture channeling’ pattern — similar to those found on high-performance tires — to enhance traction, feel and performance in all playing conditions. The Dual Density Torsion Control Tour Series grip also features a shock-absorbing outer layer that is strategically injected around the firmer base contours of the grip. Together, the unique design, material engineering and surface technology allow for consistent hand pressure throughout the swing which enables a golfer to generate more distance and accuracy.
"The technology behind the Dual Density Torsion Control design delivers significant improvement to the overall performance and functionality of the golf club," adds Lamkin. "By allowing a golfer to apply consistent hand pressure throughout the swing, the Dual Density Torsion Control grips can provide longer, straighter shots."
For 2007, Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control grips for woods and irons are available in standard and oversize options. The original Dual Density Torsion Control grip is a perfect fit for the majority of golfers and features an eye-catching blue surface layer with black torsion bars, while the new-for-2007 Dual Density Torsion Control Tour Series is designed for better players and features a firmer black surface layer with blue torsion bars. Both Dual Density Torsion Control grips feature a 0.580-in. core (Round) and are available as standard (52 grams) and 1/16-inch oversize (64 grams). MSRP $7.99.
