World’s Number 2 Furyk Begins Season In 8th Place For FedEx Cup Standing

ATLANTA — January 15, 2007 Srixon Staff Professional Jim Furyk, the number 2 player in the world, finished tied for 4th place at the Sony Open at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu, Hawaii with a 9-under par, 271 total (65-68-69-69). Furyk, the 2006 Vardon Trophy winner, played with Srixon’s
I-506 driver, I-506 irons, Forged wedges, and Z-URC golf ball to shoot all four rounds in the 60s. With the inaugural FedExCup—a season-long points competition where PGA Tour players earn points for each tournament they play in to eventually be in the Playoffs at the end of the season—Furyk is off to a great start and is in 8th place with 1,359 points. The 2003 U.S. Open Champion also continues to showcase his consistent shot making skills as he is in 4th in driving accuracy (75.86%) and 4th in greens in regulation (79.17%). Furyk was one of only 5 multiple winners on the PGA Tour in 2006—He won the Canadian Open in September and the Wachovia Championship in May.
Srixon Staff Professional Robert Allenby tied for 8th place in his first tournament of the season by shooting an 8-under par, 272 total (67-66-70-69) playing with Srixon’s W-403 Driver, I-506 irons, Forged Wedges and Z-UR golf ball. Allenby made over $1.5 million last year including 3 Top 10s. He is currently in the Top 20 in the FedExCup.
