Carlsbad, CA, January 16, 2007 . . . MRC GOLF, INC. is proud to announce the addition of two new Bassara shafts to the family of premium products from Mitsubishi Rayon. Along with Diamana® White Board, the new Bassaraâ?¢ Ultra-Lite and Bassaraâ?¢ Hybrid shafts will debut at the upcoming PGA Merchandise Show and will round out MRC GOLF’s collection of premium, high performance shafts.
Players have come to know Bassara from MRC GOLF’s initial roll out of the shaft on the PGA TOUR and to retailers in early 2006. The collection is known for offering golfers a balance of performance and playability that enables it to fit a wide range of abilities, from amateurs to top tour players.
"The Bassara Hybrid has outstanding overall performance characteristics and a feeling at impact that players are going to love. The Ultra-Lite designs are incredibly stable when you consider that they are in the 40 and 50-gram ranges," said Larry Bischmann, Director of North America for MRC GOLF. "Our unique ability to make shafts from scratch using the best materials available worldwide continues to set us apart from the competition. The Bassara line has already shown that it will work for players at the highest level, but its smooth bend profile and a moderate torque value will work well for golfers of all skill levels."
Bassara Ultra-Lite is available in Stiff, Regular and Lite flexes, in 43 and 53-gram weight ranges. Bassara Ultra-Lite’s unique bend profile allows for maximum clubhead speed without sacrificing stability at impact.
Bassara Hybrid comes in X-Stiff, Stiff, and Regular flexes, in the 83-gram weight range. Bassara Hybrid was developed to complement the next generation in utility club design. The shaft’s unique design optimizes ball flight while providing unmatched feel and control. This combination enables the discerning player the ability to achieve their specific performance requirements, whether replacing a long-iron or fairway wood.
MRC GOLF has two main product lines – Diamana and Bassara. The Diamana Series consists of Diamana Blue Board, Red Board, and White Board. The Bassara Series consists of Bassara, Bassara Ultra-Lite, and Bassara Hybrid.
