13th Annual Event for High School Age Golfers presented by Atlanta Junior Golf
MARIETTA, Ga. (January 12, 2007) – High school age golfers from around the greater Atlanta metropolitan area will have an opportunity to meet some of the best golf coaches and administrators from Georgia area colleges during the 13th Annual College Day presented by Atlanta Junior Golf, on Saturday, January 20 at Druid Hills Golf Club, beginning at 9 a.m.
College Day presented by Atlanta Junior Golf will feature some of the most knowledgeable golf coaches and administrators around the Peach State in a panel-style forum, discussing the necessary steps teenagers interested in playing intercollegiate golf will need to know in order to advance their careers beyond the junior golf ranks. This year’s guest speakers will include University of Georgia Men’s Head Coach Chris Haack, Georgia State University Women’s Head Coach Cathy Mant, and Oglethorpe University Men’s Head Coach Jim Owen, uncovering various topics such as recruiting, building a resume and video, as well as the differences between the NCAA and its divisions, and the NAIA.
"Choosing a college is a big decision especially if you’re an athlete trying to find a program that fits what you’re looking for," said Roh Wezner, Atlanta Junior Golf Association executive director. "We are fortunate to have some of the best college golf coaches in the country present to Atlanta area juniors an idea of what they should be looking for and thinking about as they go through this process."
Registration for this event is $20 per person and will close on Wednesday, January 17. For more information or to register, please contact the Atlanta Junior Golf Association at (770) 850-9040, or log onto www.atlantajuniorgolf.org.
