Cedar Falls, IA – UPRIGHT Golf’s growing line of easy-to-use ‘playing aids’ have one very important thing in common. "Each of our playing aids have been designed to make the game of golf easier and more enjoyable for the majority of our age 50+ golfers. We consider ourselves to be the most ‘debendable golf’ company in the world," explains Jim Egli, founder of UPRIGHT Golf and president of its parent company, Egli & Associates, Inc.
According to Egli, "We introduced our first and at the time our only playing aid, Joe’s Original BACKTEE, during the 2002 PGA Merchandise Show. Bob Hornung, owner of Hornung’s Golf Products, Inc., distributed the product and he was kind enough to let me demonstrate it in Hornung’s booth during the 2002 PGA show. That product led to another ‘debendable golf’ product, and then to another, and to another." Today, UPRIGHT Golf is recognized as the leader in senior and adaptive golf playing aids in the golf industry. "We’ve worked extremely hard during the past 5 years to achieve this leadership position. ‘UPRIGHT Golf’ is a long way from being a household brand name but the brand recognition that we do enjoy can be credited to our network of Internet re-sellers, overseas distributors, and great customers!" added Egli.
To date, UPRIGHT Golf’s senior and adaptive golf playing aids have been sold primarily over the Internet but Sales Manager, Will Nelson, plans to concentrate on expanding sales into on-course pro shops in 2007. "Initially we decided to concentrated our marketing and sales efforts on establishing a solid presence on the Internet. As a new business with a line of golf products that were totally new and different we felt that the Internet offered us the best chance to be successful," stated Nelson. "In fact, we think on-course pro shop sales will equal, if not exceed, our global Internet sales within 3-5 years. It’s the local pros who know their members. They’re the ones that will ultimately sell the heck out of our playing aids because they’re the ones that know who’s got the bad back, or hips, or knees."
