In late January, QuickStructures will attend the PGA Show in Orlando, Florida and introduce the Crescent building to golf professionals nationwide. Visit booth #4218 to see the newly released two-bay moveable Crescent building, the perfect shade solution for a natural driving range.
PGA Show Press Conference Thursday, January 25, 2007 Show Media Center Room 312A 1:00pm
QuickStructures developed the Crescent building to fulfill the demand for a movable shaded cover for driving ranges. The structure is made with a Vipersteel framework and a Duraweave fabric cover. The fabric is a very clean, attractive material that protects from the weather elements of wind, rain, and heat. It is available in a variety of colours to fit the preference of the course. While traditional building materials require maintenance such as paint to keep their appearance, the Duraweave fabric cover of the Crescent maintains its clean look year after year. The Crescent is mounted on a wheel-base frame making it easy to move, allowing fresh turf in a natural environment for the golfer who likes to perfect their swing.
QuickStructures is a leading manufacturer of unique building solutions for golf courses and other related businesses. In 2006, research concluded that golf courses in North America were looking for a building solution for extending the practice season and maximizing the hours of driving range operation. Weather factors such as wind, rain, heat, and direct sun often keep golfers from practicing throughout the entire day. Traditional driving range covers are stationary and require artificial turf to simulate the golf course experience. However, this turf wears, requires frequent replacement, and lacks the feel and look of real turf that professional golfers require and prefer for their practice facilities.
Practice facilities and driving ranges across North America are discovering the Crescent building and the benefits it can provide to their course. As an added incentive, the fabric on the building can provide an advertising revenue opportunity for courses as well, as it easily displays logos directly on the building. Alternatively, a course could promote memberships and upcoming tournaments. Other buildings offered by QuickStructures include the Utility building, ideal for golf cart storage, and the Arch building, ideal for equipment and aggregate storage.
