SOUTHLAKE, TX – January 18, 2007 – Pure Motion Sports, Inc., manufacturer of TOMI, the most technically advanced, graphical feedback training system for golf announced today that the company will officially introduce their state-of-the-art technology at the upcoming PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida.
"Launching TOMI at the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show is crucial to our long term success," says Gerry Usrey, CEO of Pure Motions Sports. "Exhibiting at the show will allow us to showcase TOMI to leading golf teachers and coaches, those individuals who understand that winning a tournament most often boils down to a handful of clutch putts. This is where TOMI can give an instructor a competitive edge."
TOMI (Total Optimal Motion Instructor) is an easy-to-use training system designed to support professional instructors on the practice green. The scientific but simple system works with a stroke capturing TOMI base unit (a little larger than a PDA) that connects to a laptop or PC computer that is loaded with TOMI’s special stroke analysis software. A small motion transmitter clip attaches directly to the putter. Within split seconds, in real time, TOMI captures and analyzes the fundamental mechanics of putting which, when well-executed, produce fluid, well-aligned strokes.
From the initial address and throughout the entire stroke, TOMI’s graphical feedback system pinpoints for instructors the critical aspects of their student’s putting skills that are well-grooved or those that need attention and practice. TOMI "sees" subtle motions and misalignments in the putting stroke that often go unnoticed even to the expert eyes.
The insights that TOMI brings to a putting lesson are based on an extensive bio-metric examination of the putting stroke and the critical factors that, in combination, determine the probability if the golfer is going to hit the ball where he is aiming. There are nine critical areas that TOMI measures against the golfer’s Target Line.
Alignment at Address
Back and Forward Stroke Path
Club Rotation
Club Path at Impact
Alignment at Impact
Effective Loft
Impact Spot
Velocity at Impact
Stroke Tempo
These essential parameters define the mechanics of a well or poorly executed putting stroke. It is here where TOMI then can show the instructor exactly where the student needs to practice. And, practicing the right mechanics can produce dramatic improvements in the golfer’s ability to get the ball in the hole.
Pure Motion Sports, Inc. looks forward to introducing TOMI. The company invites all PGA Teaching Professionals, and media to personally demonstrate TOMI during the PGA Merchandise Show from January 25th through Saturday, January 27th at the TOMI booth #1717 in the Orange County Convention Center.
