Patent Pending ‘Lite Ring’ Technology Makes It Possible To Produce Lightest Shoe Yet

REDMOND, Wash. – Bite, the manufacturer of the best biomechanical and performance golf footwear, is taking golf footwear to new heights with the release of their lightweight Cirrus line. Much like the clouds they are named after, Cirrus shoes are light and wispy. Depending on the style, the average weight of a shoe in the Cirrus line is about nine ounces with spikes. That’s about five to six ounces less than the weight of a standard golf shoe.

"Our exclusive patent pending ‘lite ring’ technology, allows us to produce the lightest shoe in golf," said Dale Bathum, Bite shoes owner and founder. "Through a co-molding process, we have eliminated the need for heavy rubbers or plastic materials to seat the spike receptacle in its proper position. By eliminating the extra material, and reducing the number of production processes, we have created an eight ounce shoe (average size, average Cirrus model) at a remarkable value."

Bite is launching their new Cirrus line of four shoes at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando Jan 25-27.

Some of the features and benefits of the new Cirrus line are:

A supportive outsole unit made from lightweight Phylon formula. A dual density Phylon formula–softer in compaction zones but firmer in ground contact areas. Fast Twist receptacles made from hard plastic. Bite’s exclusive Lite Ring holds receptacle in position without adding weight. Fast Twist Xcitor spikes with "directional traction" for a solid golf swing.

The shoes of the new Cirrus line are: the Inspire, the Vibe, the Vibe AC and the Slingvibe AC.

The Inspire – A classic yet contemporary saddle shoe. The revolutionary Cirrus outsole mold process reduces outsole weight and solid construction supports the foot and provides proper cushioning. The average spikeless weight is 8.9 ounces. It comes with a one-year waterproof guarantee for leather and suede. Available in women’s half sizes 5, 6-10, 11 and comes in white/inspire blue; white/natural; white/soft lime; and black/natural. Retails for $79.

The Vibe – Fashion forward? Think fashion future! The Vibe comes in a dynamic style and featherweight feel in a waterproof shoe with an all-leather upper. One-year warranty on the leather. Average spikeless weight is 9.7 ounces. Comes in white/steel blue and is available in women’s half sizes 5, 6-10, 11. Retails for $89.

Vibe AC – Feel the Vibe. Feel the air pass through your toes. All the flair of the Vibe Leather, but in mesh to keep your feet cool, dry and happy in the hottest climates. Four poppin’ colorways so you can accessorize to your heart’s content! Heavenly. Average spikeless weight: 8.9 ounces. Colors are white/gray/steel blue; white/zane gray; white/gray/pink; and white/gray/hard lime. Available in women’s half sizes 5, 6-10, 11. Retails for $75.

Slingvibe AC – Think: Great Design. Feel: Virtually weightless. The lightest shoes in golf … so light it’s like walking on air. The Slingvibes are equipped with a removable backstrap so you can wear them as a casual slide or adjust the heel for a snug fit on the course. The average spikeless weight is 8.4 ounces. Color is white/navy and is available in women’s half sizes 5, 6-10, 11. Retails for $69.

Bite’s patent pending "lite ring" technology will be made available in the men’ shoes about mid-June.
