Responding To A Shifting Market, Blue Bell Prices Golf Separately From Other Amenities
January 15, 2007, Blue Bell, PA – Blue Bell Country Club announced today that it is unbundling its annual dues pricing structure, allowing customers to pay for golf separately from its other amenities. As a result, members who do not wish to take advantage of the club’s other amenities such as the pool, tennis courts and fitness center will realize a significant reduction in their annual dues.
Traditionally, full-service, private country clubs include the fee for other amenities with their golf memberships. Members are required to pay for these amenities whether or not they use them. Starting with the 2007 golf season, this will no longer be a requirement at Blue Bell Country Club – members may now select and pay for only those amenities they wish to use.
"For years members of private clubs have been required to pay for amenities they don’t necessarily need or use," said Bill Beisel, Jr., Vice President and General Manager of Blue Bell Country Club, "By moving to an a la carte pricing model, members can minimize their annuals dues and realize the most value from their private club experience." The Club believes that the new pricing model will allow golfers – many of whom were previously unable to justify the costs of joining a private club – to now enjoy the benefits of unlimited golf at a first-class, private facility. "This is a fundamental shift from the business model currently followed by many traditional, private clubs," said Bud Hansen, III, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, "We believe this model no longer works in today’s marketplace."
Blue Bell Country Club’s annual dues for an Individual Full Golf Membership, which offers unlimited rounds of golf inclusive of green fees, is $2,500. Members may add additional golfers to the membership and purchase access to the pool & tennis courts, golf practice areas and fitness center separately.
Prospective members are encouraged to call the Club at 215-616-8208 or, starting February 1, 2007, visit their website at www.BlueBellcc.com for additional information.
