The New NVG2 Draw Driver, NVG2 Draw 3-Wood, NVG2 Mid-Irons, And Bobby Grace Face-Off Putter Line Are Changing The Game Of Golf From Tee To Green
Albany, GA. January 22, 2007 – MacGregor Golf has once again established itself as an industry leader in innovation and technology. In 2006, MacGregor daringly unveiled its new Cup Face 360° technology, a revolutionary advancement in golf club manufacturing. The results were unanimously in favor of the new technology as golfers learned that Cup Face 360° increased the sweet spot up to 30% by eliminating face-welds. In 2007, MacGregor is building on the success of this technology by introducing two new woods and a new set of irons, all with Cup Face 360°. In addition, MacGregor is introducing a new line of Bobby Grace Putters that combines innovative technology and groundbreaking design, giving more distance control and better feel to golfers of all skill sets. Thanks to MacGregor, this is the year of the golfer.
The MACTEC NVG2 Driver line has a new member. The all-new, 2007 NVG2 Draw Driver builds on the success of last years NVG2 Tour and standard models. The Draw version of the NVG2 combines the forgiveness of last years versions, largely due to Cup Face 360° technology, with a precision placed tungsten weighting system that increases ball control by eliminating misses to the right. MacGregor has also used the same revolutionary technology to produce a fairway-wood version of the driver, the NVG2 Draw fairway-wood.
Very similar to its Driver counterpart, the fairway-wood gives golfers the same forgiveness and accuracy from the fairway, allowing them to focus on the pin by eliminating hazards. In addition to the Draw woods, Macgregor has introduced the all-new, NVG2 Mid-Irons. Much like the new Draw Driver, the Mid-Irons build on the success of last years NVG2 Irons by joining Cup Face 360° technology with precision placed tungsten weighting, producing solid shots with unparalleled control. Add a new, classic designed head and these Mid-Irons have it all by combining superior technology with elegant design.
Adding to the strength of MacGregor’s 2007 lineup is the addition of the Bobby Grace Face-Off Putter line. Legendary for his ability to produce expertly designed, technologically advanced putters, Bobby Grace has once again raised the bar in putter-making technology. With his patented, all-new Distance Controlling Technology (DCT), the Face-Off putter line helps eliminate 3-putting by giving golfers better distance control. DCT ensures maximum energy transfer, irregardless of impact location. Whether a putt is hit solidly or off-center, golfers can expect similar results resulting in more confidence and less putts.
"We couldn’t be more excited about our 2007 product line" said Rob Johnson, Vice President of Marketing for MacGregor Golf. "With the addition of the Draw Driver, fairway woods, and NVG2 Mid-Irons, we have succeeded in our commitment to provide the best materials and technology to golfers everywhere."
Cup Face 360° Technology
All of MacGregor’s 2007 products – the MACTEC NVG2 Draw Driver, the NVG2 Draw Fairway Woods, and the NVG2 Mid-Irons – feature MacGregor’s revolutionary Cup Face 360° technology that completely eliminates welds on the face of the club, making the entire face the ‘Sweet Spot.’ Compared to all other clubs with traditional ‘face insert’ technology Cup Face 360° delivers a 30% Bigger Sweet Spot- resulting in hotter launches and increased forgiveness across the entire face for longer, straighter shots that feel like you hit them dead-center every time.
Fujikura Quadra Action Shaft Technology
MacGregor’s commitment to better technology is not limited to clubhead design. All 2007 MACTEC NVG2 Draw Drivers and Fairway Woods employ exclusive multi-bend Fujikura Shaft Technology that increases clubhead
speeds at impact for explosive distance from the tee or fairway. Developed
in partnership with Fujikura Composites, the Fujikura Quadra-Action shaft employs three bend points and four unique stiffness zones engineered to boost clubhead speeds by as much as 5 miles per hour at impact without
changing the golfer’s swing for increased distance on every hit.
Additional product highlights for 2007 include:
â?¢ Super light Titanium crown structures (NVG2 Draw Driver) – reduced overall mass and 8-12 percent lower CG for reduced spin, high launch, and greater distance and control off the tee.
â?¢ Dual Tungsten Weighting (NVG2 Draw Driver and NVG2 Draw Fairway Woods) – precision Tungsten weights in the sole, extreme heel, and toe of the clubhead result in a higher Moment of Inertia (MOI), or resistance to twisting at impact, helping to ensure a square club face at impact and create draw inducing spin providing increased stability and ball control.
2007 MacGregor Line-Up
MACTEC NVG2 Draw Driver (new for 2007) – Building on the positive test results of the NVG2 and NVG2 TOUR drivers, the new NVG2 Draw Driver combines the same Cup Face 360° technology that eliminates face welds and increases the sweet spot up to 30%. In addition, strategically placed tungsten inserts are calibrated to create draw spin at impact resulting in less misses to the right. The new NVG2 Draw Driver combines incredible distance with unparalleled accuracy, making it the most technologically advanced driver MacGregor has ever created.
MACTEC NVG2 Draw Fairway Woods (new for 2007) – the MACTEC NVG2 Draw Fairway Woods allow golfers to experience the same forgiveness and shot control in the fairway as they do from the tee with the NVG2 Draw Driver. Containing much of the same technology, the fairway woods rely on Cup Face 360° technology to produce incredible forgiveness at impact. Adding to the equation a draw inducing, dual-tungsten insert system and it’s clear that MacGregor has entered the 3-wood market with force.
MACTEC NVG2 Mid-Irons (new for 2007) – the MACTEC NVG2 Mid-Irons are a perfect combination of groundbreaking technology and world-class design.
Containing both Cup Face 360° technology for ultimate forgiveness and a progressive tungsten weighting system resulting in a high ball flight for the long-irons and a controlled ball-flight for the short irons, the Mid-Irons are the most technologically advanced irons on the market. In addition, the newly designed heads provide a classic look that golfers of all skill sets can appreciate.
Bobby Grace Face-Off Putter Line (new for 2007) – Bobby Grace has done it again. His ability to set new standards in the putter manufacturing industry has given him legendary status. The new Face-Off Putter Line is no different. With a newly patented Distance Corrective Technology (DCT), solidness of impact will no longer be an issue on the greens. By transferring the maximum amount of energy to the ball, regardless of impact location, DCT will allow golfers to forget about speed and simply trust the line. In addition, all Face-Off putters will come with two inserts: a polymer insert that offers a softer feel with less feedback and a milled metal insert that provides a more crisp contact and greater feedback.
