Denver, Colorado – January 19, 2007 – Action Television, the producers of the leading independent golf television series, Golf Life announces that they have crafted an agreement at the 2007 NATPE (National Associate of Television Program Executives) to become the primary national golf series on FSN (Fox Sports Net). The program will air weekly from April through September on FSN nationally reaching over 70+ million homes in the US.
"We have been airing for the past 8 years on many of the FSN regional networks and other regional sports networks like Comcast Sports Net", states Executive Producer Michael Billingsley. "This new agreement with FSN provides a national feed and network promotion of the series on FSN. This really helps, since Golf Channel now has so much competitive golf, we can provide a lifestyle program for the average person who wants an entertaining golf show".
Golf Life has been distributed through syndication to regional sports networks for the past 8 years using various golf program formats. Now the program will gain a national distribution and increase the number of airings on weekend and weekdays through FSN.
In addition, the program is going to combine the instruction, gear and destination aspects of individual episodes into each show this season, moving to a golf magazine format. "We have learned a lot about what works for the golf industry and for our viewers with special shows like Golf Life Academy and Golf Life Gear, and it is time to combine the best of these programs into one entertaining golf magazine series."
To accomplish this new format Action Television will be producing short "evergreen" highlights about interesting stories at the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show.
