CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 26, 2007) – Taylor Made Golf Company, Inc. has supplemented its exciting new Burner driver with three fairway wood models, the Burner Steel, Burner Ti and Burner TP; and a hybrid, the Burner Rescue. Like the Burner driver, Burner fairway woods and the Burner Rescue hybrids were developed for players who like to swing fast and hit the ball hard, high and long.
Burner Steel Fairway Woods
Burner Steel fairway woods incorporate a large, classically shaped steel clubhead that boasts the highest MOI of any fairway wood in golf. Compared to TaylorMade’s r7 Steel fairway woods, the Burner Steel’s MOI is a full 30% higher. Burner Steel’s unusually high MOI combines with its shallow clubface design and low, far-back CG to make it tremendously forgiving and easy to hit.
Burner Steel fairway woods are also exceptionally long, thanks to TaylorMade’s SuperFast Technology, which incorporates a light TaylorMade RE*AX® graphite shaft and light grip to promote faster swing speed and faster ball speed for increased distance. Additionally, the crown features the same SuperFast Technology markings as the Burner driver.
Available in 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°) and 7-wood (21°). Availability at retail begins on April 20 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $235 per club with graphite shaft and $210 with steel.
Burner Ti Fairway Woods
Burner Ti fairway woods feature an extra-large and bullet-shaped titanium head that’s shaped similarly to the head of the Burner driver, and which boasts the highest MOI of any TaylorMade titanium fairway wood. Burner Ti’s high MOI, along with its low and far-back CG location, makes Burner Ti fairway woods super-easy to launch high and long.
Burner Ti fairway woods also incorporate TaylorMade’s SuperFast Technology, which includes a light-and-long TaylorMade RE*AX graphite shaft and a light grip that promotes faster swing speed and faster ball speed for increased distance. Additionally, the crown features SuperFast markings.
Available in 3-wood (15°), 5-wood (18°) and 7-wood (21°). Availability at retail begins on June 15 at an MSRP of $350 per club with graphite shaft.
Burner TP Fairway Woods
Unlike the Burner Steel and Burner Ti fairway woods, the Burner TP model features a pear-shaped steel clubhead with a semi-deep clubface and compact footprint, which creates an appearance at address that tour pros prefer. Burner TP fairway woods are equipped with a SuperFast RE*AX TP 65-gram shaft with .335" tip, which combines a high kickpoint with low torque to promote a lower, penetrating trajectory that skilled players find easier to control. Additionally, Burner TP fairway woods incorporate a light grip and SuperFast Technology crown markings.
Available in Tour Spoon (13°), Tour 3-wood (15°) and Tour 5-wood (18°). Availability at retail begins on May 11 at an MSRP of $295 per club with graphite shaft and $240 with steel.
Burner Rescue Hybrids
Burner Rescue hybrids feature a substantial steel clubhead that’s 7% larger than TaylorMade’s Rescue Dual hybrid with a 13% bigger footprint. That promotes a high MOI for terrific forgiveness and long, straight results on off-center hits. Additionally, the shallow clubface design permits a low and far-back CG position that makes it easy to launch the ball high and which promotes a higher spin-rate that helps keep the ball in the air to promote long carry.
Like all other Burner clubs, Burner Rescues incorporate TaylorMade’s new SuperFast Technology, which includes a light graphite shaft that promotes faster swing speed and faster ball speed for increased distance. The crown features TaylorMade’s distinctive SuperFast Technology crown markings.
Available in 3 (19°), 4 (22°), 5 (25°) and 6 (28°). Availability at retail begins on April 27 at an MSRP of $200 per club with graphite shaft and $175 with steel.
