CARLSBAD, Calif. (January 26, 2007) -TaylorMade Golf Company, the No. 1 hybrid brand on the PGA Tour and the top-selling hybrid brand in the world during the past five years, has introduced a new model targeted at skilled players. Called Rescue TP, the club’s special features include a smaller, more compact steel clubhead designed to appeal visually to tour professionals by virtue of its clean and compact appearance. A lower, more forward CG and less offset promotes a low, penetrating, tour-caliber trajectory, and works in conjunction with the compact head size to promote greater workability for on-command draws and fades. Premium shaft options include TaylorMade RE*AX 85 TP by Fujikura and True Temper Dynamic Gold.
TaylorMade’s Tour Preferred line is authentic golf equipment designed with, and for, the finest players in the world. TaylorMade’s tour engineers are the finest in the world at the art and science of interpreting what a tour professional prefers, desires and requires in a golf club.
"The current trend in hybrids is toward larger sized heads and lower CGs," says Tom Olsavsky, TaylorMade’s senior director of metalwood creation. "Meanwhile, tour pros asked us for a smaller, sleeker head with a more forward CG to help them keep the ball under control. We complied by creating the Rescue TP."
Available in 1 (15°), 2 (17°), 3 (19°) and 4 (21°). Availability at retail starts on April 27 at a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $245 with graphite shaft and $220 with steel.
