Expo & Demo Day Partnership Designed to Promote Participation in the Game and the Latest Golf Products of Some 150+ Manufacturers

NORWALK, Conn. – PGA Golf Exhibitions and Haggin Oaks Golf Complex announced today a strategic partnership to provide the next level of community outreach and customer service at the 32nd Annual Haggin Oaks Golf Expo & Demo Days, April 27-29, at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, Calif.
Some twelve thousand golfers will travel to "America’s Largest Demo Days" the last weekend in April (Friday-Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily) to test the hottest equipment and accessories from more than 120 manufacturers; experience the latest launch monitors & Tour Tech vans; trade in old clubs; meet celebrities and shop in a 15,000 square-foot golf shop filled with values.
"We are excited to partner with Ken Morton Jr. and the staff at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex to promote participation in the game and the latest products, services and accessories from a national spectrum of golf manufacturers," said PGA Golf Exhibitions Vice President and Show Manager Ed Several. "This demo event has a rich history of connecting golfers to the latest products and services that make the game more enjoyable and is a shining example of how golf will reach more occasional and new golfers in the future."
"We’re thrilled with the growth of this event and our new partnership with PGA Golf Exhibitions," says Ken Morton Jr., director of retail at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. "I’m sure my dad had no idea how much this would grow since his first attempt in 1977. This is a great benefit to consumers in that they can talk to and be educated by experts, try and compare several models from many manufacturers and be fitted right on the spot for equipment. Our new partnership builds on our past success and we expect to raise the bar even higher."
Callaway, Nike, Ping, TaylorMade and Titleist/Cobra are among the more than 140+ manufacturers at the event. A manufacturer’s rep will be on hand at each booth to expertly answer all questions. The latest 2007 equipment in all the available specs will be on hand for free trials — a perfect opportunity to try out the hottest drivers and compare favorite models side-by-side.
In conjunction with The PGA of America’s national "Free Fitting & Trade Up Month", the Haggin Oaks Golf Demo Day & Expo also offers free club fitting and equipment trade-in opportunities. PGA Tour manufacturer-fitting vans will be on hand including Titleist, TaylorMade, Golf Pride, MacGregor, Cleveland Golf and Bridgestone. These technological marvels are manufacturing plants on wheels. The same experts who fit Tour professionals will fit attendees and then a custom club will be built for them right before their eyes.
Golfers can even cash in on their "retired" golf gear. Haggin Oaks will have trade-in specialists on hand, offering maximum dollar for thousands of clubs, staff bags, pull carts and old training aids. Gift certificates are issued on the spot for use in the Haggin Oaks Super Store. Look for the bright yellow-and-black ‘trade-in’ tent on the driving range.
"So few places take them now, and there’s not much that we won’t take in," says Morton Jr. "Everybody has used equipment in their garages; they can clean it out and buy some new stuff utilizing their old stuff."
Golf lifestyle booths include health and fitness, travel, golf courses from Reno-Tahoe and the coast, as well as many different accessory lines.
Managed by Morton Golf, the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex is located between Interstate 80 and Business 80 in Sacramento, 3645 Fulton Ave. The driving range has 100 stalls under lights and can be reached at 916-481-GOLF or www.hagginoaksgolfexpo.com for additional information.
The PGA Worldwide Golf Exhibitions’ global portfolio includes The PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla., the world’s most influential golf trade show, and the PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas – both organized in partnership with The PGA of America – and the Ontario PGA Golf Merchandise Show in Toronto, Canada; and the PGA Merchandise Show of Australia in Queensland.
Vendors interested in participating in this event should contact either Fred Evanko with Reed Exhibitions at 203.840.5628 or Ken Morton, Jr at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex at 916.871.2676.
