PLANO, TEXAS, January 29, 2007 – Adams Golf won the hybrid counts of the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours last week, according to the Darrell Survey. At the Buick Invitational, Adams Golf hybrids accounted for over 24% of all the hybrids in play. It was the second consecutive week that the Plano, Texas – based company topped the hybrid count on the PGA TOUR.
Building on the momentum of having the #1 hybrid throughout the 2006 Nationwide Tour, Adams Golf started the 2007 season by winning the hybrid count at the Movistar Panama Championship. With 52 of its hybrids in play, Adams Golf outnumbered the combined total of the second (23) and third-place (20) hybrids at the event.
In Hawaii, Adams Golf dominated the hybrid count at the Turtle Bay Championship by accounting for 49% of all the hybrids in play. For the two Champions Tour events in 2007, Adams Golf has had a total of 69 hybrids in play compared to only 27 hybrids by the #2 manufacturer. The Turtle Bay Championship also marked the second straight tournament that Adams Golf has won the fairway wood count as well.
"With back-to-back hybrid count wins on the PGA TOUR and the continuation of having the top hybrid on the Champions and Nationwide Tours, it reinforces the fact that our hybrids outperform the competition," said Tim Reed, Adams Golf Vice President of R&D. "When a majority of the best players on the top three professional tours prefer our hybrids over the others, it validates our commitment to engineering and designing the very best golf clubs available."
At the Buick Invitational, three of the Top 20 finishers played Idea Pro Hybrids, which was recently awarded the "Editors’ Choice" in the 2007 Golf Digest Hot List. Additionally, nine of the Top 20 finishers at the Movistar Panama Championship along with nine of the Top 20 at the Turtle Bay Championship played Idea Pro Hybrids.
