Golf Industry Show Silent Auction open
The 2007 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is open online at auction.golfindustryshow.com.
Benefiting the future of the game of golf, the Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is a collaboration from golf associations for golf course superintendents, owners, club managers, architects and builders. Proceeds from the auction support environmental stewardship programs, including research and education, to strengthen the compatibility of the game of golf with the natural environment, player development programs, grants and scholarships to advance the club management industry. Auction funds also provide young people with the opportunity to learn golf and the life values the game of golf represents.
"The Golf Industry Show Silent Auction benefits everyone associated with the golf facility, including golfers enjoying the game in the natural environment," said Teri Harris, managing director, development of The Environmental Institute for Golf and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA). "Thanks to our very generous and committed donors and bidders, we are able to increase philanthropic efforts in the golf management industry."
The 2007 Golf Industry Show Silent Auction is presented by The Environmental Institute for Golf (the philanthropic organization of GCSAA), the National Golf Course Owners Association Foundation, The American Society of Golf Course Architects (ASGCA), The Club Foundation and The Golf Course Builders Association of America Foundation.
"The Club Foundation is very excited to be joining the Golf Industry Show Silent Auction," said Seth Gregg, senior vice president/CDO of The Club Foundation. "There is a true sense of teamwork from all involved and the entire golf management industry benefits."
The auction is held completely online, so anyone from anywhere can bid on quality golf items. To bid, participants must register at auction.golfindustryshow.com, which automatically enters them in a drawing for a free trip to the 2008 Golf Industry Show in Orlando. Bidding on most items closes at noon PST, Feb. 24, 2007. Items from The Club Foundation will close at 4:30 p.m., PST, Feb. 26.
"The Silent Auction is a great way for companies to showcase new products," said Jeff Berg, general manager/golf course superintendent at Goose Creek Golf Club in Leesburg, Va. "If the industry will continue to donate, the superintendents, owners and club managers will continue bidding and buying."
