Baddeley Rallies to Win FBR Open Playing New Pro V1x Golf Ball
Fairhaven, MA (February 5, 2007) – Playing in front of his hometown friends and family, and placing his trust in the New Pro V1x golf ball, Aaron Baddeley proved he had big game when it counted most. Trailing the leader by three shots with four holes remaining, he birdied the 15th, 16th and 17th holes to win the FBR Open by one shot. Baddeley, who won the Verizon Heritage last year, closed with a second consecutive 7-under 64 on the weekend to finish at 21-under 196. It was the second career PGA Tour title for Baddeley who topped a leaderboard that included 9 Titleist players among the top 10 finishers.
In fact, Baddeley’s win marked the 4th victory through the first 5 events on the 2007 PGA Tour by players relying upon the New Pro V1 or New Pro V1x, the same golf balls that will be available in the marketplace this month. He joins Vijay Singh (New Pro V1x/Mercedes-Benz Championship), Paul Goydos (New Pro V1/Sony Open in Hawaii) and Charley Hoffman (New Pro V1/Bob Hope Chrysler Classic) in the Titleist Winners’ Circle this season.

Overall, Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball choice at the FBR Open with 99 players, more than seven times the nearest competitor with 13.
Titleist was also the choice of more players than any other brand in the iron (32), wedge (123) and putter (53) categories. Titleist was second in drivers (31) and fairway metals (43).
The winner was also the third consecutive champion on the 2007 PGA Tour to trust a Scotty Cameron by Titleist putter for his success. Relying upon a Newport model, the winner finished first in Putts Per Round (26.0) and 2nd in Putts Per Greens in Regulation (1.577).

On the Asian Tour, Filipino legend Frankie Minoza relied upon the Pro V1 to win the Philippine Open for the second time in his career. Minoza fired a final round 1-under 71 for a 278 total, two strokes clear of 2000 winner Gerald Rosales. Rosales, who trusts the Pro V1x for his success, posted the day’s best round with a 65. Overnight leader, Liang Wen Chong (Pro V1x) finished third to give Titleist golf ball players a 1-2-3 sweep. In fact, 8 of the top 10 finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.
Pro V1x player Jean Hugo tapped in an 18-inch par putt on the first playoff hole to win the Sunshine Tour’s Nashua Masters. The event was concluded following a two-hour delay due to dangerous conditions and a steady two hour downpour for most of the back nine. Hugo, who never trailed in the event, finished regulation at 11-under 269.
Three more wins this week advance the Titleist victory count across the worldwide professional tours to 15, more than all other golf balls combined.
