MacWet’s durable performance gloves amaze PGA Show participants

CHESTER, England — MacWet spared no expense at this year’s PGA Show, a well-designed vibrant booth, numerous salespeople, their gloves, and a large fish bowl of water to soak them in.

"We had pros and buyers putting on gloves that had been submersed in water," explained Bob Cheetham, McSport Group Ltd. Chairman. "Then we handed them a golf club with a wet grip. We couldn’t turn the club in their hand, no matter how hard we tried. We were the only glove company that dared to attempt such a thing."

While this amazed everyone who tried it, Cheetham was quick to point out that the MacWet gloves are far more than foul weather gear.

"Other foul weather gloves are just that – for foul weather only," he said. "With MacWet gloves you don’t have to sacrifice feel for tackiness. They are made for all rounds of golf, not just wet weather, and their performance beats any other glove on the market … no matter what weather you play in.

When playing golf in sweaty conditions there’s no need to hang your gloves on the cart to dry. The wicking effect in a MacWet glove draws the sweat away from the palm and into the fabric helping to keep them dry as you play.

"If you get the gloves dirty, just toss them in the wash," Cheetham said. "Our proprietary Aquatech material is durable and holds its shape forever."

Former U.S. Open Women’s Champion Allison Nicholas believes so strongly in the MacWet gloves that she worked in their booth for all three days at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla. putting the glove to its maximum test.

The MacWet concept has also been introduced to the equestrian circuit. Now they are rapidly becoming the horse rider’s standard and are also worn by 90 percent of UK’s top professional race horse jockeys exposing the glove to the extremes.

"You cannot open a UK national newspaper without seeing pictures of jockeys wearing MacWet gloves," said Cheetham. "If you can control a race horse at full speed wearing our gloves in such life threatening conditions, then you can certainly control a golf club under any circumstances."
