February 5, 2007 – Birmingham, AL – Honours Golf Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Oakes as vice president of human resources. Oakes will work from the golf management company’s corporate headquarters in Birmingham.
Oakes brings to Honours more than 20 years of experience as a human resources executive. Before joining Honours, Oakes owned and operated a popular Birmingham restaurant. Prior to that, he was employed by Birmingham Steel Corporation as their vice president of human resources. During his career before Birmingham Steel, Oakes worked his way from regional human resources manager to division vice president of human resources at Waste Management Inc. in Oak Brook, Illinois.
In his new position, Oakes will oversee all human resource matters including recruiting for the company and administration of employee benefit plans.
