The English Golf Union (EGU) is delighted to announce that Titleist and FootJoy have agreed to extend their sponsorship deal to support the England teams through to the end of 2008.
The agreement with the two prestigious brands includes the supply of footwear, rainwear, and bags for all the national squads and also the provision of practice balls for the National Golf Centre and the EGU Championships team.
Titleist is the world’s leading golf ball manufacturer and their range includes the legendary Pro V1 favoured by the vast majority of the world’s top tour professionals and elite amateurs, alongside the best selling NXT range and famous ‘red box’ PTS Solo. The FootJoy brand has become synonymous with high performance, innovative design and supreme comfort and for more than 55 years, FootJoy has been the leading golf shoe on the PGA Tour.
John Peal, Director of Marketing for Titleist and FootJoy said, "We have had a tremendously successful partnership with the EGU for a number of years and we are delighted to extend this. The quality of the top amateur’s game has improved beyond belief in recent years both through the player’s dedication and also the outstanding efforts of the EGU in developing talents for the professional world stage."
"There have been some magnificent performances at both team and individual level and we are proud to be able play a part in the continued success of English golfers."
England’s men’s, youth’s, boy’s and senior squads will wear FootJoy Classics and DryJoys golf shoes, DryJoys Performance rainwear and Titleist headwear and will use Titleist stand and carry bags whenever they are representing their country. FootJoy shoes and rainwear will also be worn by squad coaches and managers.
Lynne Fraser, EGU Marketing and PR Manager added, "The support of Titleist and FootJoy is very much appreciated by both the EGU as a whole and the squads. Our aim is to ensure that our players’ successes both nationally and internationally will continue to mirror the values and quality of these two high profile brands."
