SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (February 13, 2007) Pinehurst Championship Management has closed a record $3 million in corporate hospitality sales for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open Championship. All clubhouse, marquee, chalet and table corporate packages are now sold out for the event, to be held at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, June 25-July 1, 2007.
With five months remaining until the championship, the sales figure surpasses the bar set at the 2006 U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Newport Country Club. Corporate ticket packages and individual ticket sales remain the only option for those wishing to see the world’s best female players vie for the highest honor in women’s golf.
PCM, the company responsible for the championship’s overall operations, attributes the benchmark to both the support of its corporate partner base and the strength of its Executive Council. Comprised of 17 top women business leaders in North Carolina, the council represents a powerhouse list of the state’s corporations and is led by Duke Energy’s Roberta Bowman and Kathy Higgins of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina. The Council was developed to raise awareness of the national event and assist in corporate sales, setting an early goal to make history for the 2007 championship.
"Corporate North Carolina has truly embraced the Women’s Open at Pine Needles," said Ricki Lasky, director of sales & client services for Pinehurst Championship Management. "They see the clear value in exposing their customers and guests to championship golf, and watching the finest women golfers in the world compete on this international stage. They’ve joined together to make this championship the pride of our entire state."
Pinehurst Championship Management continues to market three corporate ticket packages, specifically designed for smaller companies looking for flexible entertainment options. Ranging from the $1,750-valued Azalea Package to the $4,400 Holly Package, each offering includes Carolina Pavilion and Season grounds tickets, VIP parking passes and Official Championship magazines. Corporations interested should contact Ricki Lasky at the PCM office at (910) 295-8151.
General Admission tickets for the 2007 U.S. Women’s Open are also on sale to the public, with a variety of options available. The package with the best value is the new Carolina Pavilion package, which includes a combination of admission tickets and exclusive access to an air-conditioned dining and relaxation center. The Pavilion features flat-screen televisions, soft seating, and upscale menus, and is the first of its kind in the Championship’s history. Tickets can be ordered by calling 877.325-GOLF or online by visiting 2007uswomensopen.com.
