Revolutionary Company Continues Remarkable Sales Led By New Pink Sets And Hybrids; ING Executive Director Mike Jamison congratulates Accu-Length President Rick Rutter on his company’s award.
LEAWOOD, KANSAS (February 13, 2007) – Accu-Length, the makers of the revolutionary expandable junior golf clubs that make playing golf an easier and more enjoyable experience for young players, enjoyed its best PGA Merchandise Show ever, highlighted by receiving one of the most prestigious awards that was handed out at the show.
Accu-Length was named winner in the Product Ingenuity category for emerging companies by the International Network of Golf during its Industry Honors program at the 2007 Merchandise Show, which was held Jan. 25-27 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The ING’s Industry Honors recognize outstanding achievement in 12 business-related categories, including product ingenuity, TV commercials, PR campaigns, business achievement, player development, print advertising, golf course design and tournament service.
Winners were determined by a vote of ING members.
The ING honor was the second major acclamation for Accu-Length’s products in recent months. Accu-Length’s Expandable Junior Golf Clubs were ranked second – out of 16 companies – on Golf Digest’s Hot List of Junior Golf Sets, in the magazine’s August 2006 edition and ranked first in the same publication’s South Africa edition. Accu-Length clubs were also named Best New Equipment Product at the 2005 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.
"We are excited and gratified to have received this honor from the International Network of Golf in Product Ingenuity for an emerging company. It’s another significant milepost in our growing stature within the golf industry and in golf retail outlets," says Rick Rutter, President, COO and Founder of OnTrack Sports, LLC, makers of Accu-Length, the only Expandable Junior Golf Clubs. "This, combined with being ranked so highly by Golf Digest, magnifies our unyielding belief that Accu-Length clubs are the best products available for junior golfers who want to have the best fitting and highest quality equipment possible in order to learn the game properly and develop their skills in the same manner."
Shown above is the New Accu-Length Pink 1000 Series Set, which comes with four clubs (also available is the Pink 500 Series, which comes with three clubs).
Buyers at the show demonstrated their belief in Accu-Length as they flocked to the company’s booth throughout the three-day show and placed order after order. Hot sellers were led by Accu-Length’s new Pink Sets, the company’s first products designed specifically for girls, and its first hybrid clubs.
The AL Pink Sets come in both the 500 Series, for children 36.5 to 46.5 inches tall, and the 1000 Series, for golfers 44 inches to 54 inches tall. The AL Pink 1000 Series comes with a wood, a 36-degree 7-iron, a pitching wedge and a heel-toe weighted putter, while the Pink 500 Series comes with all but the iron. All clubs are made from high-quality stainless steel for durability and quality. Each Series comes with a dual-strapped carry bag that feature a riser system that guarantees that the clubs will fit into the bag as the clubs are lengthened. The AL Pink 500 Series retails for $119.99 and $149.99 for the AL Pink 1000 Series which has one extra club. Spacers are now sold separately for all clubs and sets, in packs of four, with a retail price of $9.99.
Accu-Length’s 4/5 Hybrid is the company’s first product in that category. The club, which is easy to hit out of any type of conditions, is perfect for youngsters. Designed to replace a 4-iron or 5-iron, the club has a 27 or 29-degree loft (depending on the set), a filament wound shaft and stainless steel head. The 4/5 Hybrid comes in the AL1000 (pink and yellow), AL 2000 (red) and AL 3000 (gray) Series and retails for $39.99.
Accu-Length’s single club sales were another strong seller at the show, stimulated by the company’s Club Display Program. This program provides retailers with a point of sale merchandising floor display in addition to various other free products when the retailer buys different levels of Accu-Length equipment in 2007.
Buyers weren’t the only people coming to the Accu-Length booth to see the benefits of its expandable junior club technology. The products also gained major media attention during the show from such outlets as CBS, The Golf Channel, ESPN and others.
"There are a lot of great things happening at Accu-Length, and there is a lot more news to come in the near future," says Rutter. "The momentum is with us and we intend to keep riding its crest for a long time to come."
Accu-Length has rapidly moved to the forefront of the junior golf club market because of its one-of-a-kind spacer system, which enables the club to lengthen and grow as the child grows. This creates easily custom fit clubs, which allow junior golfers to learn the game more easily and more quickly.
In other words, Accu-Length’s expandable club technology creates consistency in their swings for juniors that have long been so important to adult golfers. This helps junior golfers develop a repeatable swing motion and muscle memory which produces more consistent swings, resulting in straighter shots, longer hits, lower scores and most importantly, a more enjoyable golf experience for kids.
