MARIETTA, Ga. – Entries are now being accepted for the 10th annual Georgia Women’s Match Play Championship, which takes place April 12-14 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton. This event is open to female amateur golfers who are GSGA members and Georgia residents.
The format of the event is match play with the field being flighted and seeded by handicap index. The field will consist of the 48, 56 or 64 entries with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes. Last year, Duluth’s Kyu Ri Ban carded par on the first hole for an early 1-up lead and carried that momentum throughout the final match to defeat Christy Cheek of Eastman, 6 and 5, to capture her first Georgia Women’s Match Play title.
Qualified players may enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. Paper entries are available by request and may also be downloaded as a PDF file via the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m.
The Entry period is also currently open for the Georgia Four-Ball Tournament (through February 28) and the Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship (through March 14).
