Scratch LDG Only Forged Wedge Made Specifically for Women Golfers and Their Unique Swing Characteristics
Eugene, OR, February 20, 2006 – Scratch Golf (www.scratchgolf.com) launched its "LDG" grind wedges which are specifically designed for women golfers. Like all Scratch Golf wedges, the LDG wedges are forged from 1018 carbon steel, the softest steel available in golf equipment technology. Scratch Golf wedges are the only wedges in golf that are offered in differing sole grinds that are designed to fit specific golf swings. The LDG grind ladies’ wedges are made specifically for players with slower swing speeds, a shallow attack angle and little to no divot. The sole of the LDG grind wedge is designed to sweep along the ground with limited ground contact. Center trailing edge relief provides a thinner effective sole and a recessed leading edge helps prevent thin shots. These design characteristics suit a vast majority of women golfers and the way they swing. The LDG Wedge series is available in 55 and 60 degree lofts. Scratch Golf will donate a portion of the proceeds of each LDG wedge sale to breast cancer research.
"We at Scratch Golf are extremely proud to introduce the ‘LDG’ grind wedges for women," stated Scratch Golf CEO Ari Techner. "I am confident that we have created wedges that will help women golfers with their scoring around the greens. Not only will the LDG grind help with making solid contact but our 1018 carbon forgings will provide an incredibly soft feel around the greens. With golf balls getting harder and harder each year, having soft forged wedges will make a real difference to women golfers. We are especially proud to offer the Scratch Golf LDG wedges as what we believe are the only truly forged wedges specifically made for women. It is our pleasure to present the LDG wedges and we are very proud that they have been featured in this month’s edition of ‘Golf for Women’ magazine. We are also currently making wedges for women on the LPGA Tour. I know that Scratch LDG wedges will help improve the scores and enhance the enjoyment of the game for women golfers everywhere."

About Scratch Golf
Scratch Golf is a premium golf equipment manufacturer dedicated to providing golfers with wedges available in an unprecedented five different grind options. Having made over 3,000 custom wedges, Scratch Golf was able to create a simple system whereby golfers can match their swing characteristics to the right grind for them. Further, Scratch Golf wedges offer outstanding "feel" due to the use of truly forged 1018 Soft Carbon Steel in the Scratch Golf manufacturing process. While many other golf companies offer products that are "form forged" (or a combination of cast and forged that they call forged), Scratch Golf insists on providing wedges that offer the precise grain patterns and feel that only a truly forged golf club can provide.
Scratch Golf’s Tour Department has built wedges for many players on various PGA Tours. In 2006 Scratch Golf has become the fastest growing wedge on the PGA Tours and earned numerous top tens, including a top ten at the prestigious 2006 PGA Nationwide Tour Championship. At the 2006 PGA Tour Q-School qualifying tournament, Scratch Golf wedges were used to earn a tie for 8th place, which provided that golfer with exempt status on the PGA Tour for 2007.
Scratch Golf wedges were also in the bag of the 2006 U.S. Boys Junior Amateur Champion in July of 2006 and a 54-degree Scratch Golf wedge was used by that champion to hole out from 104-yards in the final round of the Junior Am. Both the Boys and Girls 2006 Junior Amateur "Players of the Year" used Scratch Golf wedges.
