Kim Ruark is named president of Ocean City Golf Getaway, a non-profit marketing consortium for Ocean City, Md. … Edgewood Country Club in Charleston, W.Va., names Troy Anderson as its new golf course superintendent. … The Colorado Golf Association announces the election of the 2007 slate of governors. The nine volunteers elected to serve on the 30-person CGA Board of Governors were Mike Boster of Fox Hollow Golf Club; Jim Lilja of Lone Tree Hotel and Golf Club; Ken Lewis of Desert Hawk at Pueblo West Golf Club; Dennis Lyon of Murphy Creek Golf Club; Kent Moore of Cherry Hills Country Club; Gene Miranda of Eisenhower Golf Club; Buddy Noel of Saddle Rock Golf Club; Mike Schultz of Deer Creek at Meadow Ranch Golf Club; and Dave Wining of Flatirons Golf Club. For the second consecutive year, Frenchman’s Reserve, located in eastern Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., has been ranked among "America’s Top 100 Golf Communities" by Travel & Leisure Golf magazine. … The newest issue of Golf Course News International now on newsstands in the United Kingdom. … Easy Golf becomes the Finnish licensee for the International Pairs, one of the largest worldwide tournaments for club golfers. … Papa John’s Pizza becomes the title sponsor for the One Club World Championship, set for Aug. 6 at Eagle’s Landing Country Club in Atlanta, Ga. … Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Calif., will host a regional open qualifier for the fourth Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach. The regional qualifier is June 27 and will determine 10 of the 78 junior spots in the tournament field. The qualifier is a single-day, 18-hole stroke-play competition open to boys and girls, ages 14-18 and not enrolled in college, with a maximum USGA handicap of seven or 13. … The Golf Channel will air 19.5 hours of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, beginning today through Sunday. Coverage will air today through Friday from 2-6 p.m. ET, on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ET and on Sunday from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. ET. The first three days’ coverage will be replayed in prime time: Wednesday, 7:30-11:30 p.m. ET; Thursday-Friday, 8:30-11:30 p.m. ET. Also, the network will air live coverage of the LPGA’s Fields Open, Thursday-Saturday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. … TMC USA LLC, publishers of Arnold Palmer’s Kingdom magazine, hires art director Leon Harris to oversee the design of the magazine. … The Xellent Amateur Golf Series kicks off the first of nine qualifier events, March 19-20 at Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier, Miss. The field is open to the first 100 entrants. Entry fee is $275. … Toll Brothers reports that the Greg Norman Signature Course at Jupiter Country Club in Jupiter, Fla., is in the grow-in stage and that mowing of the fairways and greens has started on some of the holes.
