ITASCA, IL. – February 7, 2007 – Excel Golf Products, Inc., formerly Excel Golf Tees, Inc., manufacturer of the Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee, the "Winningest" performance golf tee on the PGA Tour and of the new vibration dampening Tocare Grips, announced today that this year’s PGA Merchandise Demo Day and Show was extremely successful for the company.
Excel Golf Products have been exhibiting at the PGA Show for the past five years. Each year the company attends with the objective to show new product and to support their distributors. Each year attendees frequent the booth to ask questions and pick up samples or brochures but this year they came to buy.
"What was exciting to me and the company was that retailers flooded our booth and with the intention to buy. Typically in the past we have buyers come and leave cards and our distributors have to do a lot of follow up. Well this year it was different. PGA Professionals and buyers came in repeatedly saying their customers want the Zero Friction Performance Golf Tees in their shops," says Bob White, Director of Sales for Excel Golf Products.
The company notes that their success at the Show can be attributed to an on-going strategy developed to grow their brand awareness. The first critical component was and is the Tour. Since 2005, Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee has celebrated 27 professional tour victories and over some 160 Top-10 PGA Tour finishes. These achievements resulted in a great deal of exposure which intrigued both golfers and in turn retailers.
Excel Golf Products continue to be aggressive with the Tour recently signing two rising PGA Touring Professionals, Dean Wilson and Ryan Palmer, each Zero Friction Golf Tee loyalists. They both play the tee during all PGA events and in practice. The Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee logo is prominently displayed on their golf shirts. Last week Dean Wilson tied for 8th at the FBR Open.
Prior to the Show, Zero Friction Performance Golf Tees were named the "Official Tee" of the Golf Demo Day. This grass roots approach allowed every golfer attending the demo day to use a Zero Friction Golf Tee. They were available in every hitting station and filled inside of boxes along the range. Many of these participants came to the booth during the Show to place their orders.
The new 20’X 30′ Excel Golf Products booth was perfectly located in front of the main entrance. This site allowed for easy access. The company has confirmed that they plan increasing their booth size even further at the 2008 PGA Merchandise Show.
As the "Official" tee of the Long Drivers of America Association, Excel Golf Products played a loop of the Re/Max World Long Drive contest which entertained most onlookers or those conducting business in the booth. Because the Zero Friction Performance Golf Tee significantly reduces the contact area between the golf ball and the tee it increases both accuracy and distance, an important combination for all golfers but particularly the LDA Players.
