Dinner and Expo Launches Season for Central Connecticut EWGA Chapter
Middlefield, Conn./ February 26, 2007 Jane Blalock, winner of 27 LPGA Tour events and founder of The Legends Tour, the Official Legends Tour of the LPGA, is the keynote speaker for the Central Connecticut chapter of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) kickoff dinner on March 16 at the Rocky Hill Marriott. Marking the start of the chapter’s golf season, the event welcomes members and guests with a cocktail reception, vendor and information displays, dinner and formal program.
Over 100 EWGA chapters throughout the country are hosting Spring kickoff events to launch their golf season and bring more women into the game and the association. For a complete listing of these events, see www.ewga.com
Blalock is president of the Jane Blalock Company, a Boston-based sports management and marketing company which she founded following her success on the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour. She was named LPGA Rookie of the Year in 1969 and holds the LPGA record of 299 consecutive tournaments played without missing a cut. In 2000, she started the Women’s Senior Golf Tour, now called the Legends Tour, which showcases the incredible talents of some of the greatest women golfers of all time including nine LPGA Hall of Fame members.
Other features of the Central Connecticut EWGA chapter’s kick off event include an array of displays and information – from golf equipment, instruction, apparel and area golf courses to physical therapy, financial services, women’s products and thousands of dollars in prizes. The Legends Tour is the official Legends Tour of the LPGA. The tour was started in 2000 by professional golf champions Nancy Lopez, Jan Stephenson, Patty Sheehan, Sally Little and Jane Blalock to showcase the talents of some of the greatest women’s golfers of all time.
