NEW YORK, NY—Golf World magazine and the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) today announced a new, co-branded coaches’ poll that will begin with this year’s collegiate golf season. The poll will be known as the "Golf World/NGCA Coaches’ Poll." The first poll will appear in the March 9 issue of Golf World and online at www.golfworld.com.
The new poll will be the only published women’s college golf ranking that is based entirely on coaches’ input. Before entering into this partnership, each organization put out their own coaches’ polls and both were widely recognized and used by college athletic programs across the country.
"We are very excited about this partnership with the NGCA," said Geoff Russell, Golf World editor-in-chief. "The NGCA is highly-regarded and well-respected and adding their resources and expertise will help create the best possible coaches’ poll for our readers."
"We have always been impressed with Golf World’s coverage of women’s collegiate golf," said Roger Yaffe, NGCA Executive Director. "Their commitment to this new coaches’ poll collaboration will only serve to enhance the exposure for our sport."
Golf World, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, is published by Condé Nast Publications, Inc.
The National Golf Coaches Association was formed in 1983 to promote participation in women’s golf. The vision of the NGCA since its inception has been to encourage the playing of intercollegiate golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
