COEUR D’ALENE, ID, March 1, 2007 – Scotch will be open on opening day of the golf season at The Coeur d’Alene Golf & Spa Resort, which is presenting its first Scotch Open Golf Package on Saturday, March 31.
"We’re adding a wee touch of Scottish tradition to opening day this year," said Resort Course golf professional Andy Mackimmie, himself a Scot.
This unique Scotch Open Golf Package allows golfers the opportunity to sample fine Scotch whiskey on The Resort Course and play as many golf holes as they wish from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Select distilleries from Scotland will be set up at each of the par 3s to offer complimentary tastes of their finest brands.
Also included is golf instruction on the short game and full swing from staff professionals, a chance to try out some 2007 equipment on the practice tee. As always, golfers can ride the custom mahogany boat shuttles along the lake from The Resort to The Resort Course, have complete use of the lakefront practice range, sit for a warm-up sports massage (available right on the range) and be assisted by personal group forecaddie. The Scotch Open tees off promptly at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.
The package offers Scotch Open golfers their choice of accommodations at The Resort Hotel for either the evening of March 30 or March 31. Rates will be The Resort’s lowest of the season, starting at $112.50 per person, based on double occupancy. (Deposit due at the time of booking, room assignment based on first come basis.)
