PLANO, TEXAS, March 6, 2007 – The influx of Adams Golf equipment played on the PGA TOUR continues to grow in 2007. After winning the hybrid count at the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic and Buick Invitational earlier this season, Adams Golf again topped the hybrid count at last week’s Honda Classic, according to the Darrell Survey. More than 26% of all the hybrids in play at the event were from Adams Golf, including the high-performance Idea Pro.
"We’re very pleased with the increased number of our hybrids being played on the PGA TOUR so far this season," said Tim Reed, vice president of Adams Golf Research and Development. "Not only are our numbers increasing, but the total number of hybrids being played on tour continues to rise. When the best players in the world put more of these clubs in play, they’re acknowledging that hybrids perform better and are more versatile compared to long irons."
In 2006, only 67 hybrids were put in play at the Honda Classic. Last week at the same event, PGA TOUR pros put 109 total hybrids in play – a 63% increase in only one year. Additionally, the number of Adams Golf hybrids dramatically increased from nine in 2006 at the Honda Classic, to 29 in play this year.
With this latest hybrid count win, Adams Golf builds its lead in the combined count of the PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tours. So far this year, the combined number of Adams Golf hybrids played on the three tours is 576, compared to only 383 by its next closest competitor.
