Plymouth, IN (March 9, 2007) – The United States Golf Academy at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Indiana has hired Bruce Rearick as its new Director of Instruction. Bruce will oversee all instruction programs at the Academy, as well as develop some new and exciting programs.
Rearick brings a wealth of knowledge about the golf swing and modern teaching technologies to the United States Golf Academy. He began his teaching career in 1983 while working for Arnold Palmer at Bay Hill in Orlando Florida. Palmer was so impressed with him that he hired him to be the Head Golf Professional at his home course of Latrobe Country Club from 1986-1996.
"When I became head pro at Latrobe, I spent almost every Monday with Mr.
Palmer on the practice tee learning about the golf swing", explained Rearick. "He talked I listened. He was very generous and would answer every question I would ask. For almost every piece of information I use in instruction I have a story on how I learned from him."
Following his career at Latrobe, Rearick has spent the past ten years as a consultant, most recently in the golf instruction technologies industry for Sentient Sports, the US distributor for Science and Motion Putt Lab. Rearick worked closely with the SAM PuttLab, the world’s first complete putting analysis system.
Rearick has developed a reputation in the industry as an expert in the field of putting analysis and teaching. Rearick intends to use his knowledge of putting and teaching techniques, which utilize modern technologies such as the SAM Putt Lab, to develop specialized "Putting Schools" for the United States Golf Academy.
Rearick will oversee one of the top golf academies in the country featuring a 7,000 square-foot teaching building with heated, indoor/outdoor bays allowing teaching year round. The large range offers multiple hitting areas for a variety of shots, bunkers, greens, short game area, and a par 3-practice course.
In addition, the Academy features state of the art teaching technology including the latest computer video analysis, launch monitors (Zelocity Pure Launch Analysis), Full Swing Golf Simulators, True Temper Shaft labs, and loft and lie machines in order to provide the best teaching tools and custom club fitting programs found anywhere.
"Over the past 18 months I have worked with golf schools throughout the USA and Canada. The United States Golf Academy has as much to offer in terms of technology, expertise, and physical amenities than any I have worked with", said Rearick. "The Academy is an integral part of the Swan Lake Resort and not just an add on amenity like many other facilities. I am excited about the opportunity to join the staff and bring my teaching knowledge and experience to make the United States Golf Academy a top teaching experience."
