CHARLESTON, S.C. (March 12, 2007) – Leslie M. Remme, a marketing executive with 20 years of experience in association management and consumer marketing, has been named the NGCOA’s director of membership.
As director of membership, Remme is responsible for NGCOA programs and services that help members operate more successful golf facilities. She replaces Jay Karen, who has been named director of partner relations.
Prior to joining the NGCOA, Remme was executive director of the Golf Course Owners of Wisconsin. She also was marketing manager for MRA-The Management Assoc., which specializes in human resources services; and vice president of sales and marketing for Brio Corp., the world’s largest manufacturer of wooden toys.
At the NGCOA, Remme will be the primary liaison between more than 6,000 members and the association, its state chapters and international affiliates. In that role, she will supervise member communications and manage resources to respond to legislative and regulatory actions affecting golf courses.
"Leslie’s experience as an association executive combined with her marketing, communications and information technology background give her an ideal skill set to bring additional value to our members through the association’s programs and services," said Mike Hughes, CEO of the NGCOA.
Remme graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Wisconsin.
