SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The oldest and most respected two-year golf college in the world, the San Diego Golf Academy (SDGA) announces it is now accepting applications for summer enrollment. Summer classes begin May 4, 2007, and will feature a comprehensive curriculum that includes everything from business law to club repair. New enrollments will be accepted at SDGA through May 18, 2007.
"We work with adults, young adults, and high-school graduates who want to take advantage of growing opportunities in the golf industry, and there’s no better time to learn about the golf industry than the summer," says Doug Feeney, a PGA professional and director of business development at the San Diego Golf Academy, a division of Virgina College. "At the San Diego Golf Academy, we’re dedicated to providing golfers with the best possible learning experience, and all we require is that you have the desire and ability to learn."
SDGA’s simple application process makes it easy. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, and must complete and submit an SDGA enrollment application. In addition, applicants must submit supporting documentation — high school transcript, attestation, or SDGA GED attestation; college transcript(s), if applicable; plus, a $50 nonrefundable processing fee ($50 for USA and Canada, or $75 for other than USA and Canada) — within 30 days of applying to complete the admissions process.
Founded in 1974, San Diego Golf Academy is a two-year golf school that helps take golfers’ skills to the next level while preparing them for a rewarding and successful golf career. SDGA’s programs and curriculum are designed to balance classroom studies with practical experience and comprehensive understanding of the business of golf.
SDGA offers a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management on five campus locations in major golf markets — Phoenix, Honolulu, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The curriculum is designed to provide graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire. The SDGA is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
