List includes 2 former B.C. Open Champions
(Johnson City, NY) — Dick’s Sporting Goods Open today announced various player commitments for the inaugural Champions Tour event to be held this July 9th through 15th at the En-Joie Golf Course. Six members of the 78 player field were announced today and include: Andy Bean, R.W. Eaks, Mark James, Don Pooley, Dana Quigley and Craig Stadler. Both Pooley and Stadler have had great success at En-Joie winning the PGA TOUR’S B.C. Open; Pooley in 1980 and Stadler in 2003.
Andy Bean’s best finish in 2007 was a 2nd place at the recent Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am. Bean has a 71.30% Greens in Regulation Pct. thru the Toshiba Classic.
Currently ranked 3rd in the Charles Schwab Cup Points, R.W. Eaks has had both a 2nd and 3rd place finish this year, including 3 top 10 finishes.
Mark James was crowned tournament champions at the recent Allianz Championship. James is currently ranked 9th on the 2007 Money List.
Don Pooley’s best finish on the Champions Tour in 2007 is a T9th at The ACE Group Classic. He currently ranks T34th in Charles Schwab Cup Points.
2005 Player of the Year, Dana Quigley had his best 2007 finish at the Allianz Championship where he tied for 6th. Quigley ranks 4th on the Champions Tour Career Money list with $13,274,636 through last weeks Toshiba Classic.
Nicknamed "the Walrus", Craig Stadler is one of golf’s most colorful and popular personalities. He currently leads the Champions Tour in Driving Distance with a 297.2 average. His best 2007 finish was a T15th at the Allianz Championship.
Recently announced concerts Air Supply and Hootie & the Blowfish will compliment a week of activities which also include a Walter Hagen Junior Clinic on Tuesday July 10th and the Official 2-Day Pro-Am to be held July 11th and 12th.
