PLANO, TEXAS, March 19, 2007 – Adams Golf announced today that its hybrids topped the Darrell Survey equipment count for the seventh consecutive Champions Tour event of 2007, after accounting for 49% of the total hybrids in play at last week’s AT&T Champions Classic in Valencia, Calif. Additionally, the eventual champion of the event played an 18-degree Idea Pro hybrid en route to his first win on tour since August 2005.
"The hybrid category is the most competitive category right now on all tours," said Max Puglielli, Adams Golf Director of Tour Operations. "Every manufacturer is working hard to put their hybrids in play each week. We’ve been able to separate ourselves from the pack by having more of our hybrids played by PGA, Champions and Nationwide Tour pros, combined, than any of our competitors. We believe hybrids and hybrid iron sets are the future of golf and our commitment to producing these high performance clubs will continue."
On the PGA TOUR last week, the Idea Pro hybrid claimed the #2 spot in the equipment count at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Adams Golf hybrids have claimed the #1 spot in the hybrid count at three events this year on the PGA TOUR, and finished as the #2 hybrid at six other tournaments.
