A long-time player of UST shafts, Furyk won more than $7.4 million on tour last year, and is the No. 2 golfer in the world, according to Official World Golf Ranking. Furyk has chalked up eight career victories on the PGA Tour, including the 2003 U.S. Open Championship, and he is currently second on the PGA Tour for Driving Accuracy Percentage.

UST’s V2 delivers a stable and consistent performance that is specially optimized for today’s 400cc to 460cc clubheads, explains Simpson. While today’s larger driver heads increase hit-ability for many golfers, the larger heads also possess centers of gravity (CG) which are further away from the shaft’s center line — a design characteristic that results in more stress and twisting on the shaft. The V2’s low-torque design prevents larger clubheads from twisting open on impact, and limits the amount of back spin imparted onto the ball, thus transferring more energy at impact. In addition, the V2 utilizes a proprietary graphite fiber orientation to enable the shaft to recover consistently when loaded or flexed and to give the shaft an incredibly stable feel in the golfer’s hands.
