Championship Course Reports Dramatic Pace of Play Improvements
Vancouver, CANADA – GPS Industries, Inc. (GPSI) (OTC BB: GPSN.OB), the leading innovator of Wi-Fi enabled GPS systems for golf facilities, resorts and residential communities, is pleased to announce that Incline Village Golf Resort at Lake Tahoe has installed the Company’s 10.4 inch Inforemer-HDâ?¢ LCD panels on its 82-cart fleet. The facility is also leveraging Inforemer’s unique Wi-Fi infrastructure to offer wireless internet access throughout the clubhouse.
Located along Lake Tahoe’s picturesque north shore with its exquisite mountain backdrop, the world-renowned resort offers two distinct golf experiences: the challenging par 72 Championship Course, with natural creeks meandering throughout the property, and the sporty par 58 Mountain Course that demands accuracy over distance.
"We were interested in GPS technology for a number of reasons, and pace of play was number one on our list," said General Manager Cathy Jo Johnson. "Our residents and guests are much happier since we introduced the system because it has dramatically reduced playing time from over five hours to four and a half hours and less."
"The Inforemer system has allowed us to identify potential problem areas, reducing the number of on-course ambassadors needed while putting through extra rounds on the course daily," said Johnson. "Players no longer need to guess at the distance to hazards. And in fact, both residents and guests have commented on the quality and sharpness of the on-screen graphics and images."
"Many of our customers report similar pace of play improvements," said GPSI President and CEO. Robert Silzer, Sr. "Our engineers have developed the most sophisticated monitoring applications in the market and combined with our other unique solutions we really enjoy a vast technological superiority. All of which enhances both the playing experience for golfers and the bottom line for golf course owners."
