Huntington Beach, CA…Cleveland Golf is pleased to announce its Title Sponsorship of the new Golden State Pro Tour. The Tour will now be called the Cleveland Golf Golden State Tour. The Tour’s 2007 schedule will comprise of fifteen 54-hole tournaments staged at courses throughout California. Membership of the Tour is open to all professionals aged 18 years and older.
"For 25 years, the Golden State Golf Tour has been the cornerstone of developmental golf in California." said Mike O’Leary, owner of the Golden State Tour and himself a former mini-tour player. "With Cleveland Golf as our title sponsor, this Tour will continue its long tradition of helping talented players develop into proven champions. It will also give California golf fans the opportunity to watch and play with future stars of the PGA Tour."
Tournaments will feature pro-ams, junior clinics, media days and demo days, designed to both promote the sport of golf and showcase Cleveland Golf product. "I believe strongly that there should be a place for professional golfers that are not on the big tours to compete", said Greg Hopkins, President/CEO of Cleveland Golf. "We’re proud to be associated with this tour and it’s long and distinguished history."
