Atlanta-area store was first of fast growing retailer to open in Georgia
ATLANTA (March 23, 2007) – PGA TOUR Superstore held a Grand Re-Opening of its Roswell location on Saturday, March 17, exactly two years after the store first opened to the public on March 17, 2005. The 65,000 square-foot store is located on Holcomb Woods Parkway in Roswell, Ga., just one-half mile east of highway GA400, at the intersection of Holcomb Bridge Road and Old Alabama Road.
The public was invited to the grand re-opening event to see the new addition, a full-sized indoor tennis court, which is available to customers to test rackets, for tennis lessons and free clinics. The Roswell PGA TOUR Superstore is the fourth store in Atlanta to have a tennis court, and both of the new stores in Dallas have an indoor tennis court, as well.
The company is actively seeking locations for PGA TOUR Superstore in Houston, Orlando, Phoenix, Los Angeles and San Diego, for openings in the near future.
"We are excited to showcase the improvement to our Roswell store," said Bill Hamlin, president and CEO of PGA TOUR Superstore. "Our customers in the area wanted a tennis court similar to the other Atlanta area stores, and we were happy to fulfill that request. The addition will give us a better opportunity to help anyone who visits us to improve their tennis game."
Drawings at the event awarded prizes including entries into the PGA TOUR Superstore World Amateur Handicap Championship and into the Annual Father and Son Team Classic held in July. "Beat the Pro" and "Fastest Serve" contests also took place, along with demos and free clinics.
All of the PGA TOUR Superstores provide golfers with an interactive, entertaining experience, as well as access to technology and services usually found in professional "Tour Vans" at tournament sites. PGA of America and other teaching pros are on staff to provide lessons, adjust a swing and guide club fitting. An indoor tennis court, and tennis apparel, equipment and services are also available.
The PGA TOUR Superstore franchise was launched in 2004 with the acquisition of two stores in Myrtle Beach, S.C. By 2005, Golf Digest had named PGA TOUR Superstore the "Best Off-Course Golf Shop" in Myrtle Beach – a town that has nearly 100 on- and off-course golf shops. Since March 2005, the company has opened six PGA TOUR Superstore locations, four in Atlanta and two in Dallas.
