ORLANDO, Fla., (March 23, 2007) – Veteran journalist Robert Lohrer has joined Turnstile Publishing Co. as Fashion Editor for Golfweek and Golfweek.com.
Lohrer, who is based in New York, will work with Golfweek’s editors and digital production staff to direct the publication’s print and digital coverage of fashion, apparel and style. That will include monthly fashion-apparel features directed at Golfweek’s core print audience of 155,000 subscribers; a fashion-apparel blog on Golfweek.com; and weekly video segments produced for Golfweek.com.
"Robert has the kind of broad background as both a golf journalist and a New York-based fashion editor that gives him a unique, sophisticated and credible perspective on the category," said Dave Seanor, vice president/editor of Golfweek. "He understands the interrelated nature of style, fashion and apparel, and the roles they play in the game for which our readers and Web users have so much passion."
Lohrer is the editor-in-chief of the Threadwize publications, a set of custom magazines published by more than a dozen leading men’s and women’s specialty clothing retailers. He is the former editor-in-chief of DNR, the trade publication for men’s fashion and retail. He started his journalism career as a reporter with The Miami Herald, where he covered golf and other sports.
"Golf has a great tradition of style and that relationship is something that is still important today," Lohrer said. "Just as much as style, there are the issues of wearability and performance that matter to the consumer, both men and women.

Lohrer’s "Fashion Focus" videos began airing March 17 on Golfweek.com. His "Style Points" column will debut in The Golf Life section of the April 28 issue of Golfweek, and his fashion blog will begin that week on Golfweek.com. Lohrer also will contribute fashion coverage to GLO magazine, Turnstile’s luxury lifestyle publication for the Orlando market.
