PLANO, TEXAS, March 27, 2007 – The Idea Pro Hybrid from Adams Golf was the #1 hybrid played last week on the Nationwide Tour, according to the Darrell Survey. In all, Adams Golf hybrids accounted for more than 43% of the total hybrids played at the Chitimacha Louisiana Open. Additionally, there were 11 more Adams Golf hybrids in play than the combined total of the next two competitors.
The Chitimacha Louisiana Open marked the 15th consecutive Nationwide Tour event that Adams Golf won the hybrid count, dating back to the 2006 season. So far in 2007, Adams Golf has won every hybrid count and leads the current season total with a staggering 241 hybrids in play, compared to only 88 in play by the second-place hybrid manufacturer.
"The consistent performance and versatility of the new Idea Pro Hybrid along with the quality and workability of our other hybrids have been key factors of establishing our brand as the dominant choice on the Nationwide Tour," said Max Puglielli, director of Adams Golf tour operations. "At this same point last season, Nationwide Tour pros were only putting 20 to 25 of our hybrids in play. Last week 63 of our hybrids were in the bags of these players, and we’ve reached that mark consistently for several months on tour."
Building upon the momentum created in 2006 when Adams Golf hybrids won the combined hybrid count of the PGA, Nationwide and Champions Tours – similar results are taking place so far in 2007:
Hybrid Count Combined Total 2007 (PGA, Champions, Nationwide Tours)
