Five Story Atrium, 98 New Rooms Highlight Enhancements at Popular, Multi-Amenity Resort
(SHELTON, Washington) – Little Creek Casino Resort – the popular, multi-amenity resort owned and operated by the Squaxin Island Indian Tribe – today announces the addition of 98 more rooms, boosting the total number of rooms at the hotel to 190.
The new hotel tower is adjacent to the original hotel which opened in December 2003. The two five-story towers are connected by a ground-floor walkway which resembles the interior of a tribal longhouse. The front desk area is now in the new hotel tower atrium lobby while the old front desk area is becoming an expanded espresso station.
The room types and number of them found in the new tower are listed below (the number in parenthesis is the combined number of each room type in the two towers).
Two Super Suites each with three oversized rooms, 1,300 square feet of living area, leather furniture, Jacuzzi tub, mini bar, kitchenette, and more
Six Spa Suites (13) with Jacuzzi tubs, walk-in Italian tile showers and more
Six Suites (12) with DVDs, stereos, high-speed Internet and more
30 King Rooms (58) with king-size beds and other amenities (27" televisions)
50 Queen Rooms (97) with two queen-size beds and other amenities
Four Handicap-Accessible Rooms (8) and other amenities (see above)
Room rates per night range from $96 to $475 depending on the time of stay (weekend vs. weekday) and room type selected and are subject to availability (holidays and other designated days are excluded).
"Little Creek Casino Resort, the Squaxin Island Tribe and our first guests to experience the new hotel tower have unanimously expressed great appreciation for our newest resort enhancement," says Ray Peters, Executive Director of the Squaxin Island Tribe, which owns and operates the casino resort. "The additional rooms will allow us to better accommodate the demand we receive from our growing customer base as well as better jibe with the events, entertainment, conferences and meetings we are booking in our new Skookum Creek Event Center."
The Skookum Creek Event Center opened Summer 2006 and will host several major events this spring including Comedy at the Creek (April 14), John Michael Montgomery (May 11) and REO Speedwagon (May 12). Other top acts to have graced Little Creek Casino Resort include Bill Cosby, Terri Clark, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Huey Lewis & the News, Dennis Miller and Jo Dee Messina.
More than 1,000 pieces of art from tribal artists, most of them Squaxin, were purchased for the new tower. Many of them adorn the tower walls. Bronze figurines of a woman in traditional tribal attire, a coyote and a raven are other aesthetic touches which blend seamlessly with the casual, cultural elegance which pervades the resort.
All guest rooms contain Sister Sky Spa Collection amenities, amenity products made with uncompromised natural ingredients and high quality botanicals by a Native American-owned and operated company.
Little Creek Casino Resort also plans to build a Gene Bates-designed championship golf course called Salish Cliffs Golf Club (www.salishcliffs.com) which is planned for a 2009 opening. Salish Cliffs Golf Club (www.salishcliffs.com) will be the first completely Indian tribe owned and operated golf club in Washington state upon completion.
Located minutes north of Olympia on Highway 101, Little Creek is nestled in the scenic Kamilche Valley (or "Pleasant Valley").
Little Creek’s Casino features table games of all sorts – from poker to blackjack and virtually everything in between – as well as more than 600 slots. The Creek provides both smoking and non-smoking gaming options. Players can enjoy a full-service, smoke-free gaming experience if they desire.
