April 2, 2007, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday is now accepting entries for the eighth annual Veterans Golf Classic, to be held May 20 through May 23, 2007, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. More than 450 golfers from across the United States are expected to participate in the 54-hole tournament that is open to all current and former members of the military.
The two-person team event features a different format each day with golfers flighted by their combined team handicap. To be eligible for the tournament, at least one team member must be a Veteran or active member of the military. For all new participants, the entry fee is $250 prior to April 16th. Past players have until April 10th to enter at their discounted entry fee of $210 and after April 10th, the entry fee will increase to $275 for all golfers. The entry fee includes three rounds of competitive golf, nightly activities for participants and a guest, awards and prizes.

Eleven of the Grand Strand’s finest golf courses will participate in the tournament, including Aberdeen Golf Club, Black Bear Golf Club, Burning Ridge Golf Club, Crow Creek Golf Club, Indian Wells Golf Club, Indigo Creek Golf Club, SouthCreek at Myrtle Beach National, River Oaks Golf Plantation, Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club, The Pearl and Wachesaw Plantation East.
During the Veterans Golf Classic, all Veterans of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) and American Legion members also have the opportunity to participate in the annual battle for "The Cup" The V.F.W. has captured "The Cup" for the last three years and the American Legion will attempt to break the V.F.W. streak in 2007.
