PLANO, TEXAS, April 2, 2007 – After winning the hybrid count on the Nationwide Tour and Champions Tour last week, and finishing second on the PGA TOUR, Adams Golf increased its lead in the combined hybrid count for all three tours. So far in 2007, 910 Adams Golf hybrids have been put in play by golfers on the top three professional men’s tours compared to only 590 by its closest competitor, according to Darrell Survey data. Adams Golf hybrids account for 36% of all the hybrids put in play this year, with 22 other hybrid manufacturers making up the remaining 64%.
"Our hybrids perform to the high standards of many of the best players in the world. Because of that we’ve been able to create a demand for these clubs on all three tours," said Chip Brewer, Adams Golf president and CEO. "The feedback we hear from these players and the results we see from our hybrids being played at the highest level of the game allow us to manufacture even better clubs for the consumer."
Three of the Top 10 finishers at the Shell Houston Open played Idea Pro hybrids, including Adams Golf Tour Staff Pro, Bernhard Langer, who finished tied for ninth. Adams Golf hybrids ranked second in the hybrid count at the event and accounted for over 24% of the total hybrids in play.
On the Champions Tour, the winner of the Ginn Championship played an 18-degree Idea a2 hybrid. Adams Golf claimed the top spot in the hybrid count for the eighth consecutive Champions Tour event in 2007 by accounting for more than 59% of the total hybrids in play. Along with the tournament champion, three other Top 10 finishers played Adams Golf hybrids, including Adams Golf Tour Staff Pro, Brad Bryant, who finished tied for fourth. Bryant played a 16-degree Idea Pro.
At the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship, Adams Golf won its 16th consecutive Nationwide Tour hybrid count. Six pros that finished in the Top 10 at the event carried at least one Adams Golf hybrid in his bag, including Adams Golf Tour Staff Pro, Brad Elder. Elder played an 18-degree Idea hybrid and captured his first Top 10 finish of the year with a tie for ninth place.
