PLANO, Texas (April 3, 2007) – Links Sports announced today they have finalized a partnership relationship between Shaun Micheel and Auxilium Pharmaceuticals, marketers of Testim® 1% (testosterone gel), a medication commonly prescribed by physicians to restore men’s testosterone to their normal levels. Micheel was diagnosed with low testosterone or "Low T" in 2005 and since then has sought to raise the public’s awareness of this rather common, yet rarely discussed condition.
"I am really excited about teaming up with Auxilium" said Micheel. "They are devoted to helping people with conditions like mine live healthier and more productive lives. I am thankful for the opportunity to help others recognize and address health issues that men are typically reluctant to face."
"Auxilium is pleased to have Shaun Micheel represent the Company. We hope that by sharing Shaun’s experience we will increase awareness of the condition known as Low T, and encourage more men to talk to their physicians about Low T and seek treatment when appropriate. Normalizing T levels in men may get those men back to feeling more like themselves, and alleviate symptoms of Low T", said Armando Anido, Auxilium CEO and President.
Shaun is the 2003 PGA Champion and is currently ranked 56th in the World.
